Scope: This is general publisher-side education, not a rate card, legal advice, or an offer to sell placement. BeInCasinos has not confirmed any operator partnership or commercial rate through this guide.
The four common models
| Model | Basic structure | Key contract questions |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed listing fee | A fixed amount for a defined directory entry, sponsorship or placement period. | Where does it appear? How long does it run? Is it labelled? What are renewal, cancellation and removal rules? |
| CPA (cost per acquisition) | A fee for an action that meets written eligibility requirements. | What qualifies? Which territories and products are allowed? What are attribution, duplicate, invalid-action and reversal rules? |
| Revenue share | A percentage of a contract-defined revenue base, often tracked over a specified period. | How is the base calculated? Which deductions, negative balances, reconciliation, audit and termination rules apply? |
| Hybrid | A combination of fixed payment and a performance-based component. | Are both components separately defined and reported? Can the fixed amount affect editorial decisions or rankings? |
Do not compare headline rates alone
Two offers labelled “revenue share” or “CPA” can have very different economics because definitions, qualifying events, eligible markets, tracking windows, deductions, payment thresholds and dispute processes vary. The contract—not the label—determines the calculation. A higher headline percentage does not prove an operator is safer, lawful, more popular or better for readers.
Before assessing any proposal, request the full written terms, reporting definitions, payment schedule, territory restrictions, brand/operator identity, applicable licence evidence and a clear process for correcting tracking errors. Keep a dated copy of the terms and any amendments.
Illustrative calculations only
- Fixed fee: a hypothetical publisher charges $250 for a labelled 30-day listing. This does not guarantee traffic, leads or sales.
- CPA: a hypothetical contract pays $60 per qualifying action. Eight eligible actions imply $480 before any valid contract-defined reversals or adjustments.
- Revenue share: a hypothetical contract applies 15% to a defined $2,000 eligible revenue base, giving $300 before any contractual adjustments. The calculation base must be specified.
- Hybrid: a hypothetical $100 fixed fee plus a variable component should be documented and reported separately.
These figures are arithmetic examples only, not market benchmarks, recommended prices, forecasts, or claims about any real operator.
Separate sales decisions from editorial decisions
A publisher should set objective eligibility gates before discussing payment. Those gates can include the exact legal operator, licence scope and regulator, market availability, terms, withdrawal disclosures, complaints route, safer-gambling tools, evidence quality and freshness. A commercial proposal must not override a failed legal or evidence gate.
- Do not sell a positive score, a “best” ranking, a licence conclusion or a promise of inclusion.
- Label paid placements clearly and near the placement; explain affiliate links in plain language.
- Keep evidence, review methodology, score changes and update dates separate from sales notes.
- Provide a correction and removal process for material changes or newly discovered risks.
- Decline proposals where the operator, licence, target-market permission or source of claims cannot be verified.
Disclosure and jurisdiction checks
Advertising, affiliate marketing, gambling promotion and consumer-protection requirements differ by country and can apply to the publisher, operator, ad format, audience and destination. Before publishing a commercial placement, obtain qualified advice for each target market and verify primary regulator guidance. A generic disclosure does not automatically make an otherwise prohibited promotion lawful.
Operator proposal checklist
- Legal entity name, operating brand, official domain and company registration details.
- Regulator and licence number, exact licence holder, product scope and permitted territories, verified against the regulator's official register.
- Written commercial model, calculation base, tracking/reporting access, payment schedule, taxes, reconciliation and dispute clauses.
- Clear placement location, labelling, term, creative approval, renewal, pause and removal conditions.
- Current terms, complaints/escalation routes, safer-gambling controls and evidence for any factual marketing claims.
- Confirmation that no payment buys a favourable editorial conclusion or bypasses eligibility gates.
